Email marketing is far from dead, despite years of predictions to the contrary. In fact, "Email is Dead" was actually a highly successful, award-winning marketing campaign and interactive pop-up exhibition created by Intuit Mailchimp in partnership with London's Design Museum. The tongue-in-cheek campaign intentionally used the provocative phrase to challenge the misconception that modern communication tools have made email obsolete.

Instead of a funeral, the exhibition served as a playful celebration of email's longevity, cultural impact, and AI-powered future.

The exhibition had a month-long residency at the Design museum in London and accrued over 25,000 visitors and over 16,000 email sign ups. The promotional and social campaign was also wildly successful, drumming up over 84 million impressions. In the press we had many notable mentions from BBC, Adweek, Londonist, Little Black Book, Hypebeast, FRAME Magazine, Wallpaper, Creative Review, It’s Nice That, and so many more. Email is Dead has received high industry praise and garnered numerous awards for Intuit Mailchimp including Addy Awards for Art direction, Out-of-home and Installation.

The "Email is Dead" Campaign: The physical exhibit grew so popular it expanded internationally to major events like SXSW Sydney. It even featured custom soundtracks, an "email personality test," and a custom fragrance called Eau du Email.
